4 Ways to Fix hCG Diet ‘Cheating’

People who are on the hCG diet are always looking at the number of calories they’re putting in their bodies and this is especially true if they are currently in phase 2 of the hCG diet.

Phase 2 of the hCG diet works best when you only eat a few calories because the hCG hormone has to see that you’re low on calories so that it will burn fat and convert it to energy.

But we live in an imperfect world and there will be times where you just can’t control yourself to eat one of those delicious but calorie-laden foods.

A lot of diet advocates refer to this inability to control oneself from eating healthy foods as “cheating” because, well, you’re following a diet plan but you cheat yourself by eating unhealthy foods.

If you’ve cheated while you’re following the hCG diet plan, I will share with you 4 ways you can fix that.

1. Drink Plenty of Water. You know that conventional wisdom, “drink 8-10 glasses of water per day?” That serves two things: to hydrate your body all throughout the day and to help you keep your hunger at bay. If you’re having one of those episodes where you just can’t help it and you just want to grab that unhealthy meal, just veer away from the scene and drink water. Drink lots of it if you feel that you’re really hungry. It is pretty safe to drink a lot of water since water does not contain any calories at all. Plus, it helps you feel satiated for longer periods of time.

2. Go for a Walk. Now, I mentioned previously that when you feel you want to eat some unhealthy foods that you walk out of the scene. This tip is in line with that. If you just can’t help it, take a walk. About 10-20 minutes will do and it will help you regain your willpower back. Also, you’re going to want to drink some more water once you get home. Again, strenuous exercises are not encouraged in the hCG diet but walking is permissible.

3. Don’t Give In. It is easy to say that once you’ve taken that first bite that you just “go with it and finish it”. That kind of mentality is what will sabotage your weight loss goals. Don’t give in despite having that first bite. If you’re going to go eat cheat meals, you have to remember that you’ve sacrificed a lot. This is true for most hCG dieters as phase 2 of the hCG diet is unforgiving when it comes to the calorie you take in. So, if you haven’t resisted the urge to eat unhealthy foods, don’t have this “give in” mentality. Never give up!

4. Take it Easy On Yourself. And lastly, take it easy on yourself. No one person can follow a diet 100% of the time. Even I find myself eating a slice of chocolate cake even though it is not permissible in my diet. So if you’ve found yourself cheating on the hCG diet, don’t beat yourself up. Treat this as a minor setback and hopefully, you will be more cautious on what you eat.

The hCG diet might be unforgiving on the surface but once you’ve instilled the discipline and determination to finish the diet program, you will reap the results.
